OXON Physiotherapy COVID-19 Update

We are so excited to announce that we are gradually re-opening our Physiotherapy clinic for urgent and low risk Physiotherapy needs from Thursday 11th June.  We cannot wait to see you all again, old and new clients!!  Thank you for your continued support for our business.

We are still prioritising virtual/telephone appointments, but if you are triaged as appropriate, you can be seen face-to-face in our clinic with our Physiotherapists.

Due to the implementation of strict opening procedures, we have introduced some new measures in the clinic to keep you, and our staff safe.

We are following the advice available from our Governing Body; The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and Physio First, alongside Government and Health and Safety Executive advice.

Location:

We are temporarily opening back up in our previous clinic premises: 46 Crouch Hill Road, Banbury, OX16 9RG.

Yours and Our Safety

PPE

We have implemented the use of Personal Protective Equipment for our staff.  They will be wearing a mask, face shield, gloves and apron.  These are changed / cleaned between clients.

Social Distancing

Our Physiotherapists will be practising social distancing as much as possible in the clinic, and we have removed all unnecessary equipment and soft furnishings to make this possible.  Our Physiotherapists will be keeping a 2m distance when taking your history, talking to you and when demonstrating exercises.  This will obviously not be possible when delivering hands on assessment and treatment.  The risks involved in close contact will be explained to you.

Patients will ideally need to attend their appointment alone unless they are under the age of 16. If you require someone else alongside you during the appointment, then please speak to your physiotherapist about this on booking your appointment. If you bring a chaperone with you to your appointment, we will ask them to follow strict hand washing and social distancing as well.

We will ensure you do not come into contact with any other clients, so please come to your appointment no more than 5 minutes early – you can wait in your car if needed.

Cleaning

The clinic and all equipment used will be cleaned between clients – we have allowed 15 minutes between each client to do this.  We will be leaving doors open as much as possible to improve ventilation, unless they are shut for confidentiality reasons.

Collecting information

We will need to collect your contact details and any name and contact details of a chaperone (if you bring one) to allow us to contact you if we believe you may have come into contact with someone with COVID-19 symptoms.  This information will be kept confidentially and safely as per our usual procedures.

When it is time for your appointment, please:

  1. Wait outside the front door in the open air.
  • The Physiotherapist will take your temperature, and the temperature of any chaperone accompanying you.  If it is raised, you will not be able to enter for your appointment, due to this being a symptom of COVID-19.  If it is raised your appointment will be re-arranged at no extra cost.
  • On entering the clinic, following a normal temperature reading, the Physiotherapist will ask you to use the hand gel provided.  Please do not wear your own gloves, if you wish to wear disposable gloves during your appointment, we can provide these for you.
  • You will sit in the clinic room and have your assessment / treatment.
  • On exiting the clinic, please use the hand gel again.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us via the website, email or telephone, we look forward to seeing you soon.
