Huw graduated as a Physiotherapist from Coventry University in 2009 and has been working in the NHS since, gaining a vast amount of experience alongside working in private practice . In 2019 he gained his Masters in Manual Therapy at Coventry University achieved with Merit to advance his skills inclusive of injection therapy.
Huw works with all musculoskeletal injuries from day to day aches to trauma and has a keen interest in sports injuries. He utilises a variety of treatment techniques including mobilisations, manipulations, electrotherapy, pilates exercises, soft tissue techniques, acupuncture, taping (including kinesiology tape) and provides specific exercise programs to help promote patient recovery.
No matter the issue he ensures that his client’s goals are maintained in the forefront of their treatment with the aim to get them to achieve their goals and return to their normal lifestyle. This may be walking to the shops, reducing their pain levels and reducing the need for medication, return to running or advice on exercise programmes to prevent injuries.
Huw has also undertaken further training to complete workstation assessments for clients within their workplace. This includes an assessment of the client and desk space to provide information and guidance to help improve the working environment whether to alleviate any symptoms or to help prevent aches and pains in work and reduce the need for sick days.
Huw has a keen sporting background from representing Wales in athletics and previously being a semi-professional rugby player. He utilises his sporting background to help athletes get the best outcome with pre-habilitation or rehabilitation from an injury, but also to incorporate his team ethic to help everyone regain their lifestyle and achieve their specific goals.
